Tickets of the Rugby World Cup 2015 matches have been revealed by Martin Johnson who was the winning captain of the 2003 Rugby World Cup. This event took place at the Twickenham Stadium and the tickets have five variations. Through the unique design of the tickets rugby and the rich history of this game is celebrated. The tickets feature the Webb Ellis Cup at the middle and four captains who won the rugby world cup for their country- Martin Johnson of England, John Eales of Australia, Francois Pienaar of South Africa and Richie McCaw of New Zealand.
With the two rugby images the tickets represents the game’s heritage in England which blends easily with feel and look of this vibrant tournament. The fans are represented at the ticket’s lower half who always has been the heartbeat of the tournament. Three colors have been used to develop these four designs. These tickets will be issued for the games of the Pool phase, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Bronze Final. For the final a gold special design has been developed which has the dramatic drop goal of Jonny Wilkinson of the 2003 Rugby World Cup Final.
The tickets will be brought to life by the fans through the support of the Augmented Reality technology of Blippar. The tickets are designed with activations design. By using their smart phones the fans will get 3D interactive experience. When the fans will scan any ticket of the tournament by Blippar they will unlock various exclusive contents like preview of the match by Will Greenwood, Jonny Wilkinson and Lawrence Dallaglio which they are going to attend. They will also be able to see the stadiums’ 360 degree views where the matches will take place. If this is not enough, then they will be able to see their view too from their seats from this August. It will also help with navigational tools to reach the stadiums too.
When Martin Johnson the 2003 Rugby World Cup winning captain unveiled the tickets he said,
It is an honor to feature as part of the ticket design for Rugby World Cup 2015. Winning in 2003 holds some very special memories for me.
He also said everyone remembers the drop goal Jonny kicked at the final and he is very pleased that such a moment is marked in the tickets of the final game.
Stephen Brown, the Managing Director of the England Rugby 2015 said
We are pleased to reveal the Rugby World Cup 2015 ticket design which aims to celebrate rugby and the history of Rugby World Cups.
He also said that they are commemorating these four countries by featuring their captains which has won the great Webb Ellis Cup. He added as the host nation they are very ecstatic that their best moment in this game is placed in the final tickets which are very special. Finally he added they excitement is growing within the fans and as the distribution of the tickets is about to start and it will take the excitement to another level.
